When thinking about Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics it makes me think of how important this career cluster is to our economy. In what way do you think the cluster contributes to/effects our nation's economy? Please describe your two careers in this cluster first. How do you think each of your two careers in this cluster contribute to/effect our nation's economy? How does this cluster contribute to/effect the other clusters you have completed research in?

I think this cluster effects to economy greatly. My two careers in Transportation, Distribution, an Logistics are a Bus Driver and a Transportation Manager. I think my two careers effect and contribute to the economy because as a bus driver, you have to drive people around. As a Transportation Manager you have to manage the transportation. This cluster effects the other clusters I have researched in because without Transportation you couldn't get anywhere.

Government

I chose a statistic manager and an interviewer as my career in government. This relates to my career because as an interviewer you have to be able to talk in front of people. You also would have to know how to pay attention to details like a dental hygienist. A statistic manager, would relate because you have to be good at mathematics.

Career in Ag

The careers I have learned about in Ag, Food, and Natural Resources relate to my life because any career in this cluster give us our daily needs. For example, we can get food and clothing from agriculture. The careers I chose were a florist and a nursery worker. A florist has to be organized and creative. This relates to our community because when people are sick, or even have good news, because they brighten the way the town looks. A nursery worker has to keep good stats and also has to be organized. Having a nursery in our community would make flowers and plants more interesting to learn about. You could also learn how to keep statistics.

My Career Choice Venn Diagram

I think we did this Venn Diagram to show that even though some careers you might want to do seem like they have no similarities, they really do. For example, the career I chose was Dental Hygienist while the career I researched was an Accountant. Although it seems like there couldn't be anything in common, there really is. They both need to be good with people, have self control, and have problem solving skills.

Students have just finished researching the Architecture and Construction career cluster. I'm curious to know how the two careers they looked at are similar and how they are different. I'm also interested to know if either of those two careers relate in any way to their chosen career. It should be interesting to read their posts!

The careers I chose in the cluster Architecture and Construction are Surveyors and a Flight Attendant. There are really no similarities in these two careers. Surveyors make measurements and determine property boundaries as well as search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed. They need lasers, levels, measuring rods, and map creation software. Surveyors need to have have a bachelors degree, and make approximately $56, 230 each year. The projected growth for this career is 8%-14%. Flight Attendants provide personal services to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of airline passengers. They also direct and assist passengers in emergency procedures. For this career they need cool containers, blood pressure cuffs, and lifeboats. To be this you need an associates degree and you make around $37, 240 every year. The growth is -3%.

My career I chose is kind of similar  to my career in Human Services. I chose a dental hygienist as my career and Sociologist was my career in Human Services. They both help people. The interests are also similar because they are both Social. A sociologist makes a little more than a dental hygienist. In both careers you will need on the job training experience, and previous knowledge and experience. They both need independence in their work styles.  Both of their projected growth is 21%. I could probably work in human services. I know I want to be a dental hygienist and I don't think anything will change that.

Importance of Personalities in Workplace

I think it is important to understand personalities in the workplace because you should know what personality your co- workers have. You need to know if they like to be organized, or if they would rather just do things on the spot.  It is important to know your personality because it might help you find a career. Knowing other peoples personality will help you know what they like.
